Mont d’Or

An exceptional and unique estate of 24 hectares spread over 220 terraces held by 15 kilometres of stone walls nearby the town of Sion.

Each terrace is planted with a specific variety selected according to the altitude, the terroir, the temperature and the exposure. Grape varietals are Petite Arvine, Ermitage (Marsanne), Johannisberg (Sylvaner), Malvoisie (Pinot Gris), Cornalin, Syrah, Humagne, Fendant and Pinot Noir. Some of the white wines are vinified of late harvested grapes. The first medal was obtained already in 1878 in Paris for the Johannisberg cuvee.
